Small Amazigh milk jug
Made from unglazed terracotta, this ancient Amazigh milk pitcher (Takserit) is a stunning example of the humble yet beautiful objects that the Amazigh people created for daily life.
This small rotund jug has a hooked ear-shaped handle on one end and short spout on the other. With it's beautifully subtle variations in colour, worn edges and minutely cracked surface, this is a truly remarkable object of the past.
Although its exact age is unknown this piece is likely from the 19th century.
Part of our Heirloom collection.
