Tafilalt Terracotta Jar
A late 19th-century earthenware guedira (traditional storage jar) from the Tafilalt oasis region in southeastern Morocco.
Hand moulded from coarse local clay, this utilitarian vessel features a classic bulbous body, dual loop handles, and an open neck with a naturally weathered, historic rim.
The exterior displays a dark, multi-toned patina with distinct carbon markings from domestic use and historical open-air firing. Highly sculptural and primitive in form, this century-old piece provides a strong material presence for collectors of historic North African pottery.
Part of our Heirloom collection.
