Draa valley couscous steamer
Before the use of metal pots, the Amazigh people of north Africa made their famous traditional dish, couscous, in a bowl-shaped terracota steamer set over a matching terracotta boiling pot.
Couscous is a staple dish in Berber cuisine, and the tools used to prepare it are integral to their cultural heritage.
A true piece of Amazigh history, this old cooking vessel was made from local clay, by potter men in the Draa Valley of Morocco, with a focus on functionality over aesthetics.
